A new study found that marijuana extracts help reduce chronic pain, even in people who have never used cannabis. Ole Miss lost its decades‑long federal cannabis‑growing contract, opening the door for private firms. While the industry has been upset at Ole Miss’s historically crappy research cannabis, with the DEA still stalling on shipment rights for newly DEA-licensed growers and Old Miss losing a contract despite having just opened a cannabis research center, I’m a little suspicious if this is really about science. Senate Republicans advanced Trump’s DEA pick, Terrance Cole, just as rescheduling hangs in limbo. Cole, Virginia’s Secretary of Public Safety and a former longtime DEA agent, expressed skepticism to cannabis’s medical value in the past and used “Just Say No” rhetoric. He also recently dodged questions on whether he’d support moving cannabis to Schedule III. I think it's clear what we need to do. We need to peer pressure Terrance Cole to try some great cannabis. “Come on man, it’s what all the cool government officials are doing. Just say yes” ;)
