Florida’s effort to put recreational marijuana on the 2026 ballot advanced after the state Supreme Court signed off on the summary language for their petition drive. I’m optimistic though Governor Desantis has made it harder for citizen initiatives to get on the ballot. A report warns that U.S. medical cannabis markets could be in serious trouble after the Trump administration rolled back key federal protections, while some think Trump will be an advocate for the industry. Time will tell. And a federal court ruled that cannabis businesses can’t claim Employee Retention Credit (ERC) tax refunds, because federal law still classifies them as illegal. It’s a good thing we didn’t send out the ERC advertisement we were thinking about. ;)
