Florida’s governor DeSantis just made it harder for citizens to get measures like cannabis legalization on the ballot, by adding costly bonds, banning out-of-state petitioners, and shrinking the signature window. They’re basically moving to silence voter support for reform. Remember, in the last election, 56% of people voted for cannabis legalization, which was below Florida’s 60% threshold. We included an article about using employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) as a clever way to get around 280E tax rules. A federally funded study found that marijuana helps heavy drinkers reduce their alcohol cravings. Cannabis deserves way more credit in public health conversations. :)
