Oh no! California lawmakers left out cannabis tax relief from the budget even though Newsom was ready to sign it, but Senate leader Mike McGuire blocked it over budget excuses and lobby pressure, selling out the Emerald Triangle as the excise tax jumps to 19% from 15% on July 1. So though these politicians had plenty of time to figure this out rates for cannabis are going up for at least the next 6 months. A new survey says over a third of Californians use cannabis and most get it from licensed dispensaries. In contrast to a meta study last week, a new study sampling over 700,000 individuals found no real link between recent cannabis use and heart attacks once other factors were considered. I know, it's confusing. :)
